Wentworth Campus
Are you ready to create your very own video game? Join us for an exciting week where campers will jump into the world of game design and creation! In this hands-on camp, students will use Scratch and Microsoft Arcade, both are user-friendly platforms, to design, code, and build their own custom games from the ground up. Whether you’re a beginner or have some prior experience, our experienced instructors will guide you through every step, helping you turn your game ideas into interactive adventures.
Campers will:
Explore the principles of game design, from story creation to gameplay mechanics
Learn how to use Scratch to bring their unique vision to life by programming characters, challenges, and game dynamics
Recreate a classic game before branching out to create their own digital worlds, wacky characters, and exciting adventures
Customize virtual environments and design custom gameplay interactions
Dive into animation by creating a simple animated scene to learn the basics of motion graphics
In addition to building digital worlds, campers will engage in a daily outdoor break. By the end of the week, campers will have their own game to share with family and friends, along with the skills and confidence to continue exploring the world of game design and animation!
This is a half-day program.
